Meet your guide, Guilherme Pereira
Born in Lisbon 72 years ago, Guilherme inherited from his father a love and curiosity for the city during their Sunday walks.
He graduated in Sociology and Economics in 1976 from the University of Grenoble (France) and continues to study History, Geography and Heritage in his spare time.
He attended a course in Olisipografia (the study of Lisbon) coordinated by Professor José Augusto França at the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL).
Between 2008 and 2012, for the GEO – Lisbon City Council’s Office for Olisiponense Studies, he carried out the survey Shops of Baixa and Chiado: Living and Intangible Heritage. He later expanded this research to cover Lisbon and its surroundings, under the title The Shops of Lisbon.
From 2013 to 2023, as a Lisbon City Council technician, he created 55 itineraries dedicated to the city, its neighbourhoods, historical figures and architects, guiding 8,262 participants in 648 walks, and accompanying numerous commented visits to cultural and heritage sites.
Continues to create and carry out itineraries around Lisbon for different cultural associations.
